Simposio interdisciplinario: Immigrant children

Recibo información de este centro de investigación sobre inmigración, basado en Toronto. Acabo de ver este simposio y me pareció interesante traerlo a este foro para quienes ya están en T.O. y quizás tengan tiempo para asistir. Generalmente estos eventos son gratis pero requieren inscripción para saber cuánta gente vendrá. Yo estoy en Caracas pero asistí a varias actividades de CERIS estando de sabático en la Universidad de Toronto.

How do the ways we see young people affect the way they see themselves? What are the impacts on their health and well being? How can we use existing knowledge to ensure optimal life outcomes for all of Canada’s immigrant and refugee children?

This interdisciplinary symposium will bring together leading national and international experts in three fields of research: identity and diversity; migration and resettlement; child/youth health and wellbeing. Its goal is to explore the links between identification processes and life outcomes of our diverse immigrant and refugee children and youth. What can existing knowledge tell us that can help ensure optimal success for all of Canada’s children and youth?
