    COMMUNITY ORGANIZED PUBLIC HEARING ON BILL C11 – THE REFUGEE REFORM BILL

    The Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Jason Kenney has introduced a new Bill to reform Canada’s refugee determination system. To date, there has been no public consultation on this important piece of legislation.

    To learn about proposed changes to the law, and its potential impact on refugee claimants, come to a Community Organized Public Hearing in Toronto
    on May 6, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. – at Room RCC 204, Rogers Communication Centre, at Ryerson University. Address – 80 Gould Street ( at the Northeast corner of Gould and Church ).

    We will be featuring well-known journalist Michele Landsberg as the Moderator, Dr. Lois Wilson, former Senator of Canada ( and former Moderator
    of the United Church of Canada ) as well as Peter Showler, Former Immigration and Refugee Board ( IRB ) Chair as special hearing «commissioners».

    This event is co-hosted by the Canadian Council for Refugees, FCJ Refugee Centre, Metro Toronto Chinese & Southeast Asian Legal Clinic, and the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants.
