I´ve found a great site where we can check our grammar skills. It is at the Vancouver English Center.
http://secure.vec.bc.ca/vec/online-test.cfm
There, you can test your knowledge of english grammar for free; you just have to fill some info, as your name and e-mail, so, they can send your results as soon as you finish.
They will give you the notes you got in each level; from 1A to 8B. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to see the correct answers, but, anyway, it is the best English Test I´ve done on-line. So, try it if you want to!
Best regards,
Dianamayo 28, 2008 a las 3:58 pm #226754ya en CanadáMiembroWell I think it’s such a great idea
It’s not that I want to be everywhere hehehe since I gave you guys the idea of practicing french online between us. But I think it’s also important to focus on english and improve our grammar and speaking skills. Any help or comments please let me know!
Greetings from rainy and cool Maracaibo (sounds weird doesn’t it?)
but mother nature has been a bit crazy lately, I’m quite amazed myself!Take care.
Specven.
mayo 28, 2008 a las 4:12 pm #226755AdrianMiembroThere are slight differences between Canadian English and American English. Even in accent and pronunciation.
This page has some useful information:
http://www.cornerstoneword.com/misc/cdneng/cdneng.htmI have noticed the way they pronounce the word "about" it’s like "obut".
English is equally important as French in the Quebec job market, so its very important to improve it too.

I am very happy that you liked this idea too. Now, you and me have our language rooms!!!! And we can share our knowledge and ask if we have any doubt!
Greetings from Mexico City too!

junio 5, 2008 a las 7:37 am #226763http://aiglee.blogspot.comMiembroI asked my north american friend next to me to be really sure on this one xD
It’s back at you. And just FYI, back to you would be the equivalent of "OVER" on a radio, would be to give back the control to the other person.
junio 5, 2008 a las 8:59 am #226764ya en CanadáMiembroThanks for the info Aiglee sometimes we also tend to mess up in spanish, our mother tongue
I hope you’re enjoying spring. Summer will be coming soon, I bet it must be beautiful seeing all those trees and parks, being outdoors these months must be awesome!
We started to see some rain in Maracaibo, although it has not been enough, it’s quite hot and muggy, we need more rain, anyway, hope you’re doing great.
Take Care
junio 5, 2008 a las 12:09 pm #226765http://aiglee.blogspot.comMiembroYou are welcome, and you are completely right that we mess up even in our mother tongue, specially when you are in a foreign country for a while
Spring is still really cold! But it’s amazing to see the trees and the flowers after so many months without them, you feel like green is THE BEST color
Cheers and keep the good work!
